This vibrant pen and ink drawing pulls from Mayan iconography to create something new that seems very old. Its all about the process of making art and the wheel of circumstances that molds and shapes the artist and the things they create. We don't paint in a vacuum. Combing through books and seeing countless stories told by the ancients and yet struggling to understand and have a sense of who those artists were I thought about my own process and the never ending spiral of influence and inspiration that survives long after the people and their empires have crumbled under the relentless weight of time.
